Product Description
Referred to as the "Grand Prix of epidemiology" by The New York Times, this study examines more than 350 variables of health and nutrition with surveys from 6,500 adults in more than 2,500 counties across China and Taiwan, and conclusively demonstrates the link between nutrition and heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. While revealing that proper nutrition can have a dramatic effect on reducing and reversing these ailments as well as curbing obesity, this text calls into question the practices of many of the current dietary programs, such as the Atkins diet, that are widely popular in the West. The politics of nutrition and the impact of special interest groups in the creation and dissemination of public information are also discussed.

Life changing January 7, 2009 Fad This book is amazing. I borrowed a copy and found what it said to be refreshing and on the money. It changed my life. I became a Vegan (diet wise only) and bought 2 books, one to keep and another to give to some friends. They are now also becoming Vegan (diet wise).
Excellent!! January 6, 2009 Jacqueline K. Gallagher (NY) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent book, very informative, life-changing! Makes anyone want to stop eating disgusting, rot-in-your tummy murdered flesh. Reading this book will save your life, especially if you are one of the many brain-washed victims of America's "meat and dairy is good for you" cults. Hopefully it will make everyone go vegan and stop supporting the factory farms which contribute to global warming, billions of animals being tortured and murdered every year, and the end to heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney failure, high blood pressure, cancer, impotence, shall I go on?
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMINAL!!! & UPSETTING!? January 3, 2009 V. Jackson (GA!) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Truly amazing that so much can be gained by means that seem so simple and inexpensive, yet truths continue to be distorted...no, flat out hidden from the public and sacrificing our health for financial gain. Incredibly upsetting that we lose so many loved ones due to something we've been taught to expect and accept as inevitable(heart disease & cancer)when all the while these things are for the most part easily controllable. The principles in this book should be taught early on in grade school instead of the system of "American Excess" which we currently subscribe to!!!!
Vital reading for every American December 29, 2008 Paul Freeman (Philadelphia) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is essential reading for anyone with even the slightest interest in good health. Even a modest following of recommendations is bound to improve health status. Is is also important to understand what forces (Food and medical Industry, government agencies etc) "paint" information fed to us. One needs to be ones own advocate.
The China Study December 28, 2008 F. Bergonz 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book contains more research proven information on diet and health than any other book. It is a real eye opener for information that is generally not known or accepted by the general public. Don't read the book if you are not ready for the truth.
